This prestigious ceremony, hosted by AIXR a global non-profit championing the use of immersive technologies across industries, recognises excellence, innovation, and contributions shaping the future of AI and XR.
The 8th International AIXR XR Awards have undergone a significant transformation for 2024. Key updates include:
1. Expanded Categories: Reflecting the industry’s growth, the awards now cover a broader range of XR technologies, including XR Film & Experience of the Year, XR Tool & Utility of the Year, and the Obsidian Award, which celebrates groundbreaking hardware peripherals.
2. Strategic Sub-Categories & XR Accolades: New sub-categories recognise excellence in specific areas, ensuring that standout contributions are acknowledged even if they don’t win the overall category.
3. Inclusivity with the AIXR XR Grant: A new initiative to support diverse voices and promote inclusivity in the XR space.
These updates highlight the awards’ commitment to evolving alongside the XR industry and fostering innovation, creativity, and inclusivity.
ARuVR’s CEO & Founder, Frank Furnari, played a pivotal role, not only as a panelist at the Opening Show of the Awards Ceremony but also as an AIXR board advisor and an honoured judge for the awards. His dual role underscores his influential contributions to the XR industry and highlights ARuVR’s commitment to driving transformative XR experiences across industries.

At the Operation Show it was discussed and covered a number of topics including a State of the XR Industry Address – panelists engaged in a conversational deep dive into the XR industry’s key trends, challenges, and milestones – and the Panelists’ Picks & Predictions – a lively discussion where panelists shared their favourite categories, nominees, and predictions for the awards.
